Too Many Big Cars

hctp_001There are too many big SUVs and vans in this small island.
We only have narrow and winding roads and cramped parking spaces.

twinThis is just good enough!

The Moving Box

Yamanote1I heard that a crowded train in Tokyo is known globally. If it's so, do you know this?
In the YAMANOTE line which is most used by people, the seats are folded up at the time of the morning commuter rush. It's for pushing as many passengers as possible even into the space of the seats. In the peak hour, the standing people are tightly stuffed into this moving box. Japanese people express such situations as 'SUSHI-ZUME (compressed like rice of sushi)'. This spectacle reminds me of a train to Auschwitz.

Yamanote2When I took this photo, the car was still vacant (it's almost empty for us!).
